Talismanic frontman Kane, with 36 goals to his name this season, will sit out that contest through suspension. He collected his fifth caution of the campaign last time out and must now serve a one-match ban.
The 31-year-old frontman has hit out at the “crazy decision” that saw him booked against Mainz, while also questioning Bundesliga disciplinary codes, but he has been reminded that everybody must abide by the same rules.
Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus has said in his column for : “After the win against Mainz, Harry Kane complained about his yellow card , which will suspend him from the next game in Leipzig. His criticism of referee Bastian Dankert was, in my opinion, unjustified. There are rules, and they apply to Kane as well.
“One can debate whether Dankert should have shown more sensitivity, but in other games too there were yellow or even yellow-red cards for delaying the game, such as in Bremen's win against Mainz at the end of January.”
